Send Them A Message -- Vote for Bob Barr! I know I will. McCain lost my vote in 04 when he went with team Bush! I may be a RRLC (Religious Right Leaning Conservative) but I'd rather see Obama in the WH (even if I will not vote for him)! All the R's stand for these days is unneeded unfunded wars, even bigger government than the D's and one that is definitely NOT a government of the people, by the people, for the people! Send them a message!

Yes, Dan...you have convinced me. If I decide not to "squander" my vote by voting for Barr, I suppose I'll vote for Obama instead. At least he supports civil liberties.

It may be unfortunate, but one of the facts of life is that we do often have to make the best choice from several distastful options. You know as well as I that either a registered Dem or Rep will reside in the Whitehouse after the election. Voting for Mr. Barr or any 3rd party candidate this time around will be like the proverbial tree falling in the forest...yes, it does make a sound, but nobody hears it and nobody cares. Why squander something so precious as a presidential vote, considering so many have died securing, then preserving our right to cast that vote?

"I suspect that there are other limited-government Republicans out there who feel the same way."

Here's one! Of all the candidates who were running as of last May, I supported McCain the most until I discovered Ron Paul. I would have overlooked McCain's warhawkishness any other election cycle, but with Barr now taking Paul's place as the libertarian-minded voter's choice, McCain has definitely lost my vote.

True, but I think it's fair to say that there are plenty of pissed-off fiscal conservatives out there who might just say the heck with John McCain.

But since you've already stated McCain would never get your vote, he hasn't exactly lost it.
