While the nation remains focused on Pennsylvania’s April 22nd primary, Hillary Clinton’s campaign faces a big problem only two weeks later:
WASHINGTON (Map, News) – Largely overshadowed by Hillary Clinton’s make-or-break bid to win Pennsylvania in two weeks, Barack Obama is quietly widening his lead in the next crucial state, North Carolina.
Having begun the year essentially tied with Clinton in the Tar Heel state, Obama now leads by an average of 16.2 percentage points, according to the Web site Real ClearPolitics.com. A new poll by Rasmussen Reports puts Obama’s lead at a whopping 23 points.
That trend could prove significant because of the nine contests that remain in the Democratic nominating process after Pennsylvania, none awards as many delegates as North Carolina, where voters go to the polls May 6.
“If Clinton wins Pennsylvania by just single digits, I think that’s a victory for Obama, who then comes into North Carolina, a state with the symbolic ability to coronate the winner,” said political scientist Hunter Bacot of Elon University in North Carolina. “It would be interesting to see whether a significant or substantial margin, like a 20-point Obama victory in North Carolina, would push her to concede.”
Let’s see how the Clinton’s spin this one……

Why is there an apostrophe in “Clinton’s”?
