Condi Rice Says No To Veep Slot

Well, at the very, least this should be an end to that speculation:

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice sought to end speculation today that she might be a vice presidential running mate for Arizona Senator John McCain.

She praised McCain, but told the Associated Press in an interview that she doesn’t “want to be, don’t intend to be, won’t be on the ticket.”

Instead, she says she’ll return to academic pursuits at Stanford University.

Okay, so let’s stop talking about it.
