A Question Worth Asking Hillary Clinton

by @ 7:28 am on April 18, 2008.

From ka1igu1a at Freedom Democrats, a little-noticed new policy proposal from the Junior Senator from the Empire State:

What perked my antennae was Clinton’s proposal of extending a Nato-like security umbrella to the Middle East, Persian Gulf, North African, Near East Asia theatre. What the fuck…Clinton is out-NeoConing John Mccain here. Her claim of immediate withdrawal of troops from iraq within 60 days is laughable in the context of this proposal. To serve as a credible security umbrella enforcing agent in that theatre, you would need to have a viable military presence in the region, military bases and troops, in order project a rapid force determent. Guess where this would be situated? Clinton is either blatantly lying about her Iraqi withdrawal plan(no surprise) or completely talking off the top of her head about this “security umbrella.” And if the ABC News moderators had not wasted the first hour of the debate talking about Flag Pins and Jeremiah Wright, they might have had time to substantially engage Clinton on this matter, pointing out the obvious inconsistencies on her part.

Or, to put it more bluntly, because this is what a “security blanket” really involves, would you be willing to sacrifice Chicago to save Riyadh ?
