On Sunday night, Antonin Scalia will be interviewed on 60 Minutes, which is unusual enough for a Supreme Court Justice, even more so considering that he comments on one of the most controversial Supreme Court decisions of the past ten years:

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia denies that partisan politics played a role in the 2000 ruling that secured the presidency for George W. Bush.

“I say nonsense,” Scalia tells 60 Minutes during a rare interview. “Get over it. It’s so old by now. The principal issue in the case, whether the scheme that the Florida Supreme Court had put together violated the federal Constitution, that wasn’t even close. The vote was seven to two.”

The outspoken justice says there’s an important distinction between his personal opinions and legal opinions.

“I am a law-and-order guy. I mean, I confess to being a social conservative, but it does not affect my views on cases,” he tells CBS News.
