Unless you actually want to go or you enjoy being stuck in traffic, my recommendation is to stay away from the area near the Nissan Pavilion tomorrow afternoon:
Join Barack Obama at a rally in Bristow on Thursday, June 5th.
Rally with Barack Obama
Nissan Pavillion
7800 Cellar Door Drive
Bristow, VAThursday, June 5th
Doors Open: 3:00 p.m.
Program Starts: 6:00 p.m.The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are NOT required, but an RSVP is strongly encouraged. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please RSVP using the form to the right.
For security reasons, do not brings bags. Please limit personal items. No signs or banners permitted. No outside food or beverages allowed, with the exception of clear and sealed water bottles.
I’ve only been to one concert at Nissan since it opened — Jimmy Buffett back in 2006, and that was quite enough for me. The concert was great but there’s something about not getting home (a 30 minute drive once we actually got out of the parking lot) until 2am from a concert that ended around Midnight that didn’t sit too well with me.
The place is a traffic nightmare.
And that’s only likely to be enhanced when you add in the Secret Service, media, and, apparently, a few protesters.
So don’t say you haven’t been warned, and stay away from that part Wellington Road if you’re not going and you can help it.

Eric & Rachelle,
You do realize this is a blog and not Barack Obama central, right ?
Right ?
Anyway, I hope you’re having fun sitting in traffic on the Prince William Parkway right now.
My suggestion is to turn around in the median and head on home. Otherwise, you won’t see it till at least midnight.

I attended the rally, and it was amazing how quickly they cleared the parking lot. We were out in no time.
The rally was an amazing thing to witness.

They did a really great job with traffic. We were out of there in seconds. Barack is an amazing and inspiring speaker and we were so glad to be there to witness it firsthand.
