Gordon Smith is a Republican Senator from Oregon and here is his rather extraordinary ad:

If that’s not a sign that the down-ticket knows that the GOP is in trouble this year, I don’t know what is.

    It’s unfortunate that the down ticket Republicans are the ones that will pay the price on election day, mainly because of who is on the top of the ticket, along with the long time incumbents who have decided they must move to the center with him.

    It’s a good sign that Rep. Chris Cannon R-Utah, has been shown the door by an anti-illegal immigration candidate. The fact that Cannon had a high conservative rating, but caved on the immigration benefit mess, should send a clear message to those conservatives that the majority of the population will hold them accountable on the major issues of today. Hopefully those in Congress that want in on the money making Global Warming scheme will also be led out to pasture where they can enjoy all the green they love.
