While Barack Obama campaigns from a beach in Hawaii and John McCain plans military adventures in the Caucuses, Bob Barr is headed West:
Barr began the Colorado visit in Denver on Sunday, attending a private fundraiser, then traveled to Colorado Springs to meet with evangelical leaders and tour Focus on the Family.
“Support for my candidacy in Colorado grows stronger by the day,” says Barr. “The enthusiasm of Colorado Libertarians followed by the generous hospitality offered by Focus on the Family was a great start for this leg of the campaign.”
Barr also took time while in Colorado to visit his temporary Denver headquarters established for the upcoming Democratic National Convention.
Later this week, Barr will make stops in Missouri and Illinois. After returning from California on August 16, Barr will rally with supporters in Indiana.
So, you may ask, what does that matter ?
I thought the same thing, until reading this from Bruce McQuain:
Evangelical. August 16th. California.
Evangelical focused me on California and August 16th. Anyone know what’s going on election-wise on the 16th in California?
How about the Saddleback Civil Forum chaired by evangelist Rick Warren? Both Obama and McCain will be there. Barr, apparently will also be there - in the state I mean, on the right date.
It would be an interesting appearance if Barr manages to get an invitation, especially considering the fact that evangelicals aren’t exactly thrilled with John McCain.
