Obama vs. McCain: Electoral College Update

by @ 9:13 am on October 7, 2008. Filed under 2008 Election, Barack Obama, John McCain, Politics

It’s only been a week since I last wrote about it, but there’s been enough significant movement in the state polls to warrant another look at the where the Electoral College stands.

For example, RealClearPolitics now shows Obama just 6 Electoral Votes short of victory even when toss-up states aren’t included:

RCPEV107

And, when toss-ups are included, it’s looking very much like a 1988-like landslide:

RCPEV1072

Several other entities that are measuring the Electoral College count are also showing Obama with a nearly impenetrable lead.

Electoral Vote.com:

EVDC107

Election Projection.com (Obama 364 McCain 174):

EP107

Five Thirty Eight:

538107

Pollster:

The map, I think, speaks for itself.
