Obama vs. McCain: Mid-October Electoral College Update

It’s been a week since we last looked at the Electoral College projections and, if anything, things look worse than they did back then, at least for John McCain.

According to RealClearPolitics’ projection, Obama is on the verge of a 1996-style victory even when toss-up’s aren’t included:

And, when they are, it starts to look like 1988:

The same is true over at Electoral Vote.com, where the interesting prospect of Obama winning West Virginia changes the map significantly:
