Obama vs. McCain Mid-October National Polls Update

We’re half way through October, hours away from the final debate, and its not looking good for John McCain. Any hope that the McCain camp may have had that the trend toward Obama that was reflected in the polls two weeks ago would turn around as they have in the past is clearly gone, and they find themselves at a point where they will have to turn around a campaign that has clearly slipped out of their fingers.

Here’s where the most recent numbers are as of this morning:

And the trend lines show no sign of a turn in McCain’s favor at this point:

This continues to look like Barack Obama’s race, and if that’s how it looks after tonight’s debate is over then it’s probably time to start writing the post-mortems.
