Both Presidential campaigns, and the Republican National Committee, are out with new ads in the wake of last night’s debate.
In John McCain’s ad, we’re told that yea the past eight years have pretty much sucked, but he can do better:
In Barack Obama’s, the campaign takes what was probably McCain’s best line of the debate last night and uses it against him:
If McCain had run his ad months ago and distanced himself from the Administration, then maybe it would have been effective. At this point, though, I’m guessing it’s too little too late.
The RNC, meanwhile, is out with October’s version of Hillary Clinton’s 3am phone call ad:
Ed O’Keefe at the Washington Post reports that the RNC will be spending $ 18 million over the final weeks of the campaign to run this ad in several battleground states. Will it help dent Obama’s rise ? Only time will tell.
