The outcome wasn’t entirely a surprise, but nonetheless Gerry Connolly has beat Keith Fimian in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District:
Gerald E. Connolly, the well-known chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, won election to the U.S. House of Representatives, putting a Democrat in a seat long held by Republican Thomas M. Davis III.
Connolly defeated GOP rival businessman Keith S. Fimian in a contest for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District, which includes most of Fairfax County and parts of Prince William County.
Full results aren’t in yet, but it looks like Connolly won big in Prince William County as well as his native Fairfax.
This seat is going to stay blue for a long, long time.
