To Iowa, in November, for a “book tour”:
And so it begins.
Mike Huckabee will be stumping in Iowa later this month — for his new book. But the inevitable speculation will connect the dots to whether he’s laying the groundwork for another presidential run in 2012.
It is hard to believe that it is purely coincidental that Cedar Rapids and Des Moines on Nov. 20 are among the first stops in Mr. Huckabee’s 53-city, 17-day nationwide book tour for his campaign memoir, “Do the Right Thing.”
Iowa, after all, was where Mr. Huckabee catapulted himself from the back of the Republican pack to Mitt Romney by winning the state’s caucuses with a shoestring budget and homespun approach. Mr. Huckabee’s campaign eventually sputtered as he struggled to broaden his appeal beyond Christian conservatives. But he is oft-mentioned by experts as among the top Republican contenders for 2012, along with Mr. Romney, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

Mr. Huckabee’s new book could offer him a fresh platform to weigh in on the emerging debate over the Republican Party’s future. His Web site describes it as: “Huckabee’s amazing story, in his own words s — from making commercials with Chuck Norris to meeting a Michigan woman who insisted on donating her wedding ring.
But this is more than just a campaign memoir. It’s a vision for a smarter, fairer type of politics— “‘vertical politics” — as he has espoused before, that focuses on common-sense solutions for education, health care, the economy, and many other issues. It’s not about right versus left; it’s about taking America up rather than down.”
Sounds like a campaign manifesto to me.

This is how its done. What we need to do find someone we can back and get them out there building a base of support. If we had Ron Paul out there doing this 4 years ago, he would have been a known commodity by the time he announced and that first 6 million dollar money bomb could have happened 6 months sooner. Some choices could be Gary Johnson or Mark Sanford.
I think it would sure be nice if they would at least give us a few months off before they start the next round of campaign ads.
[...] Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal are taking trips to Iowa this month, Mitt Romney is headed off on a cruise, but [...]
The Republican party got what it deserved in 2008, and will lose again in 2012 unless they get behind Mike Huckabee. He is the only candidate with extensive governing experience who can appeal to young voters, African Americans, and other minorities.
