Take a look at this video of President Bush at the G20 Summit last week:
It seems fairly apparent that the world leaders on the stage weren’t at all eager to greet Bush in an amicable fashion, and Bush doesn’t seem all that eager to talk to them either.
While some like Ed Morrissey and Ericka Anderson seem to be taking this as an unconscionable slap in the face and an insult to the country, I think it’s fairly clear that this is just an example of how far American influence has fallen during the time George W. Bush has been President. Nobody would’ve thought to do this to Ronald Reagan, and yet the fact that it happened to Bush is entirely unsurprising.
As for the reason that this might’ve happened — I’m guessing it has something to do with the fact that the rest of the world is blaming the United States for an economic crisis that has enveloped the entire world and shows no signs of ending. Since Bush represents the United States, they are likely treating him accordingly.
