John Cole sums up pretty much how I feel about this nonsense at this point:
While Andy McCarthy and Pam Atlas will probably keep the faith, the rest of you out there should probably just come to grips with the facts- Obama is a citizen, Obama won the election, Obama is picking his cabinet, and Obama will be the next President. There is not going to be some sort of magical discovery that proves he is not a citizen and the lunatics were right all along.
He won. He is an American. Get over it.
Somehow, I doubt that they will, even though the substance of their arguments are without any more for the reasons I discussed here, here, here, and here.
Update: Matt Lews at Townhall has similar thoughts:
I am of the opinion that anyone advancing the notion that Obama is not a citizen, and thus not qualified to become president, is actually undermining the conservative cause. Sadly, this ridiculous “conspiracy theory” will only serve to undermine the legitimate attacks on Obama, by casting us all in the role of zealots.
All indications are that Obama was born in the state of Hawaii. His mother was clearly an American citizen. In many regards, Obama has more of a claim to be eligible for the presidency than did Barry Goldwater (born in the “Arizona territory”), George Romney (born in Mexico), or John McCain (born in the Panama Canal Zone)…
There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize Obama, but dwelling on this ridiculous notion will only serve to undermine them.
Unfortunately, rational arguments such as those Lewis advances will be lost on the largely irrational tin-foil hat crowd that is advancing this nonsense.

Whether Obama is a “natural-born” citizen, not simply a citizen, is what’s being debated. However, I have a different theory as to what’s happening. I think that Obama’s lawyers have the necessary documents. However, they also see Obama’s record pile of campaign cash. Therefore, a case that should have been decided (and dismissed) in 10 minutes of court time is being prolonged for the billable hours.

I know the distinction, I just shortened the phrase to keep the title short.
As for your theory, I disagree. His lawyers are doing what they’re supposed to do — getting the cases dismissed for the frivolous piles of crap that they are. It’s the fact that nuts like Philip Berg keep appealing the dismissal of their lawsuits that is keeping this non-controversy alive.
This is NOT rocket science:
Since the Constitution’s Article II requires our President to be a “natural born citizen” (not merely “citizen” as allowed for those living when the Constitution was enacted) meaning both parents were US “citizens” when the child was born (parents not necessarily “natural born” citizens), there’s NO WAY Obama can be President — regardless of being born in Kenya OR Hawaii. Obama’s dad was NOT an American citizen. He was a citizen of the UK (ruling Kenya at the time). Case closed.
Ted, sorry doesn’t work that way. Neither of his parents had to be citizens (of course his monther was, but even if she wasn’t no problem). He was born in the United States. That makes him a natural born citizen. End of story. If you are born here, you are a citizen, no matter the status of your parents.
I think this “Obama is not a citizen” stuff actually greatly hurts the Republicans and helps Obama even more. It just makes the people that are against him look like a bunch of lunatics (and yes, it appears many of them are.)
The GOP is running headfirst into the lunatic fringe.
Anyone born in the U.S. is a “natural-born citizen”, no matter if both parents are citizens or not.
Oh, Ted, come on. Natural born means “born here, naturally”. The constitution says nothing about the citizenship of the potential president’s parents. You made that up just to tease us, I’ll bet. If one of one’s parents was from Mars, and the other from a yet-undiscovered secret nation at the bottom of the Indian Ocean, and both parents were visiting Antartica, but hurried by jet sled to Tupelo Mississippi so the Martian could give birth, that young’un is a citizen. Case even MORE closed!
Ted, don’t take up rocket building. You’re ignoring the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. If you’re born here it means fuck all whether your parents are citizens or not.
The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides an additional source of constitutional doctrine stating that birth “in the United States” and subjection to U.S. jurisdiction at the time of birth, entitles one to citizenship:
“ All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the Jurisdiction thereof, are Citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. . .”
I’m no Obama thumper, but If you jackasses want to split hairs, let’s discuss McCain’s birth in the the Panama Canal Zone.
Ted, I think you and yours forgot to take your Haldol.
All of this clamour about his birth certificate, represents ‘Much Ado about Nothing.’ With all the relevant issues, most important, the economy to be addressed why is anyone wasting time on this?
To detractors, please, it time to move on. Barak Obama won the elections and will be the nextpresident annot see anything changing that. It’s clearly time to move on!

@ Ted: you know if one parent is a U.S. citizen, then the child automatically gets dual citizenship, right? When they turn 18 they have to declare citizenship; either U.S. or to wherever the other parent was born.
HEY HANNITY, YOU SUCK!
Hi
As a UK citizen who was delighted to see Barack Obama elected as US President it amazes me that there are some who wish to undermine his right to be a president by suggesting he is not a “natural born citizen”.
I can only suggest that they are totally devoid of useful political argument.
Oops… I see the looney meter rising on this one.
It’s quite amusing how one can easily judge the nutter issues by simply watching the comment totals.
BHO has yet to convince me otherwise. He was so not born in Hi otherwise he would have shown his original Certificate of Live Birth for the world to see. I too was born in Hi in 1961; I have no problem in showing the world my original typewritten COLB, so why cant he? I mean it’s a single piece of paper? Why let this fester, grow and now end up in the Supreme Court for review?
Why? It’s simple, he does not have one. Just a certification of birth and a lame statement from Hawaii’s Department of Health stating his original birth certificate “in accordance” of state polices & procedures. Why did she not state he was born in Hi @ a given hospital on a given day……THEY won’t because they CAN’T cuz they would be lying !!!!
Period – End – of – Story !
Folks, BHO has SO much baggage – and talk talk about a circle of friends……..it’s a shame for us all!
America’s chickens have truly come home to roost!!!!
