Less than 48 hours after making the nearly 1,100 page House-Senate compromise bill available for review, the House approved that bill today with no Republican support:

Anyone who thinks that Congress actually knows what they’re talking about, well, you’re kidding yourselves.
Consider this:

That’s Congressman Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri.
Also, House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer is apparently advising appeal to the Almighty:

Despite the fact that it’s pretty obvious that no Congressman or Senator will have read the 1,000+ page monstrosity that is the stimulus bill, it seems fairly clear that the bill will pass the House fairly easily when it comes up for a vote at 1:30pm.

After that it’s on to the Senate where Ted Kennedy [...]
