Michael Steele apologizes for telling the truth:
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says he has reached out to Rush Limbaugh to tell him he meant no offense when he referred to the popular conservative radio host as an “entertainer” whose show can be “incendiary.”
“My intent was not to go after Rush – I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh,” Steele said in a telephone interview. “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. … There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.”
Leadership ?
What leadership ?
He’s a talk show host. You’re the Chairman of the RNC, or at least you were until you bowed down and kissed the ring.
This makes me wonder if the GOP ever wants to win an election again.

Doug,
Spot on. I was wondering the same thing when I read about Steele’s public deference to Limbaugh.
The GOP is truly a ship without a rudder. Sad.
Cheers,
RHM

I was sorry to see Chairman Steele capitulate to the far right in that manner.
I had hoped Chairman Steele (as a devote Moderate himself) would usher in a more accepting atmosphere for Moderates and libertarians in the GOP.
Apparently not. I suppose he feels beholden to the social conservative wing of the Party for his ascension to the Chairmanship. The era of good feelings appears to be over.
Commence the circular firing squad.
