Ron Paul had a busy media day.
First, he was on Bloomberg TV talking about the budget, the bailout, and Ben Bernanke’s testimony before the Senate Banking Committee:
Next, Paul was on Glenn Beck’s program on Fox where they talked about the bailouts and, unfortunately, the “FEMA Camps” story, which seems like another hair-brained conspiracy theory to me:
And, finally, Paul was on David Shuster’s MSNBC show where he, correctly, took the media to task for focusing on the Limbaugh kerfuffle and seemed to even challenge Limbaugh to a real debate on the issues, which I’d pay to see:
Paul is also right that all this talk, both among the media and inside the GOP, about Limbaugh’s role in the GOP really is fundamentally absurd. Republicans need to spend time figuring out why the public distrusts them so much, not worrying about whether they’re offending a talk show host.

I think Limbaugh just sort of rose to the top by default. The Republican party is leaderless and rudderless, and it’s obvious they’re looking for somebody, anybody
Rush is not the leader, he’s the decoy. If the RNC can get attention off of politicians it will be easier for them to organize and hinder Obama. Naturally, Rush is only to happy to be in the lime light for this or any opportunity. He’s a fat aging attention whore who would starve to death if IQ points were food coupons. This is nothing more than when a magician has you watching his left hand while the right hand is doing the dirty work. Fox and the MSM are paid to take attention away from what is really happening.
Re: Rush’s comment about wanting Obama to fail: He’s talking about Obama’s power grab policies in the guise of economic stimulus to fail. Critics are trying to make it appear that Obama’s efforts are genuinely aimed at economic stimulus and that Rush does not want the economy to be stimulated under Obama regardless the damage to the country. This is ludicrous. Rush as we all do, wants the economy to recover. He just believes that Obama’s policies will hurt rather than help in reaching that goal. It’s clear that he would therefore want Obama’s policies (and thus Obama) to fail in that they, in his and many people’s opinions, would lead the country further into economic decline along with an erosion of freedom.
Re: Rush is the leader of the Rupublican Party: Rush is a private citizen, unelected to any post. He simply has a larger audience than most of us. I wish that Ron Paul would be the leader of the GOP. Actually, I wish he were the president and we would have a chance to get out of this economic mess once and for all.
