Janeane Garafalo Is An Idiot

by @ 3:29 pm on April 17, 2009.

I really don’t need to say much, her words speak for themselves:

Here’s hoping that Jack Bauer recovers from his illness soon so that he can bitch slap her 24 character all over FBI Headquarters.

Personally, I found the “tea baggers” laughable in their lack of a consistent message but that’s neither here nor there.

The fact remains that Garafalo is a moron. Yes, it’s true. Many of the tea baggers (BTW: can we please get someone on the right with some branding/marketing savvy?) hate Obama and some of his policies, but it’s so weak – dare I say “passe” – to label them all racists. Can we please have an argument/debate on the facts for once without injecting this kind of crap out of sheer convenience?

(It’s worth mentioning that Garafalo does not speak for all progressives nor the White House…unless you’re watching the West Wing).

    Cheers,

    RHM

im not sure who this makes look worse. i think its quite possible that olberman has now trumped hannety as the largest faux journalist of our time.

  3. EJ Says:

say as you wish about the people at these things, but where do you get that everyones racist? im really hoping even the people who watch msnbc see how ridiculous that segmeant was

Tom Brokaw agreed with everything this lady had to say. I will not stoop to her level by calling her vulgar names. However, as a teacher of United States History, many of the 1800 Americans at my rally understood the reason for the founding of this nation and the parallel to the Boston Tea Party…We don’t want someone taking our money and giving it to someone else. Period. My wife and I are teachers and make just under $70k and paid over $3000 in FEDERAL income taxes in addition to what we paid in medicare taxes. Thank God we pay into Teacher Retirement where the money is actually ours when we retire unlike Social Security which is paying for those getting checks in retirement now. We do not hate Obama. I for one was excited as a teacher of history to see an African-American in the White House to show my students that the Presidency is almost in reach of anyone. Once a Woman lands the job it will be possible for ANYONE to be President. We must hold our representative and senators accountable and remind them they work for US. Our vote can put them in the unemployment line like the 10% of Americans who are already there because of them. When you tax the rich and big businesses you are really taxing the consumer because businesses never pay taxes out of profits they factor them into the cost of their product or service. Americans need to wake up and realize that we were founded in the spirit of individualism with freed of m speech and freedome of religion. We were not founded as a Judeo-Christian nation but as one that allowed us to CHOOSE our religion or the absence of it!!!!

  5. David Ben-Ariel Says:

Why is frustrated Garofalo obsessed with race? Why does she feel some strange need to hide behind Soetoro/Obama’s skin color to bash people of white color who dare to disagree with Socialism? How hateful and confused.

  6. Mike Says:

    Lack of consistant message?

Boy are you out of touch. The elitist in the whitehouse and his cartel of radicals aree steamrolling legislation through at an alarming rate. They are attacking our entire infrastructure, destroying the dollar, and continue to strip away our civil rights. Whenever you libs feel the slightest insult you scream to the ACLU, protest in the streets, and cry foul.

We see legitimate CONSTITUTIONAL infringements and voice our concerns, but we’re the bad guys. What a bunch of BABIES you libs are. GROW UP and WAKE UP!!

  7. Shaun Kenney Says:

Never knew Garofalo was a throwback to phrenology

    Sad, sad pseudo-intellectual.

  8. Dave Farnsworth Says:

If the tea parties were about race why did I see black people at the event I went to?

To the commenter saying there is no clear message, they are right. This was not a highly funded Acorn event. It was indeed grass roots although I would not known about it were it not for Fox News. Fox reported the event, they didn’t organize it.

Why does the very word liberal mean tolerant yet most all liberals are anything but?

  9. David Wilson Says:

That was a ridiculous display of ignorance by Ms. Garafalo. At the same time, the protesters made a huge mistake by giving both the impression and the cogency that the protests were largely republican. However, the media has largely focused on the conservative side of the protests and have not made a fair exposition of the facts. And they say Fox News is biased. I agree with RHM that the lack of a consistent message is furthermore troublesome. In any case, it is 4 months into a Democratic Administration and I am already pissed off in a legendary fashion. Of course, this could be just because Obama was the last straw after 8 years of Bush. Add all of this on to being one of the few Libertarians in a Public, highly liberal, university, and I am like a powder keg. Still, I think my anger is justified on its own merits and ought not be reduced to racism or lack of a significant intelligence quotient.

@ David Ben-Ariel: I don’t think she is obsessed with race per se; I think she is trying to marginalize the philosophical origins of the conservative movement. Additionally, I believe that despite the rabid discontentment within me concerning the current situation, we are not a Socialist system quite specifically.

@ Mike: This is not characteristic of the Obama administration. It is characteristic of Government period. Get used to it.

  10. Lois Says:

The hatred of about half the country that comes out of her mouth is beneath contempt. I have no problem with a black president, I actually am proud that America moved beyond race to elect Obama. I do have a problem with his policies and that he has proposed more spending in his first 3 months than our country has spent from George Washington up to his election. Meanwhile, people like Janeane Garofalo and Keith Olberman think they have all truth and get nasty and attacking. They are the problem

  11. Sheila Says:

Janeane Garafalo is very misguided. I don’t believe calling her names does any good. Her terrible comments on NBC News (who is complicit in her comments because they let her go on with her despicable rant). If these Tea Party attendees were Democrats and/or protesting President Bush, her comments I’m sure would have been very positive about the TEA Parties. It’s a double standard to put it mildly.

Ms. Garafalo, I was one of the people who attended a Tea Party. It was a very peaceful gathering of people who do not like the direction the President and his administration is taking the country: big governement, infringing on private companies, huge bailouts, and generational theft of our children’s futures by increasing the deficit to 10 trillion dollars in just a few years by his uncontrolled government spending!

We are NOT racists. If this President were not African American, and was heading our country toward socialism, people would still have come out to protest. The color of his skin has no bearing on the protest issues. It is shameful that you accused us of racism. Obviously, you have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe if you had attended a TEA gathering, then you could have given a more enlightened, common sense and intelligent reaction if you are honest.

In response to your racist comments, I would have voted for any African American who supports our traditional American values put forth by our Forefathers in the Constitution. If Alan Keyes ever runs for President again, I would definitely vote for him and would have voted for him if he had won the nomination in the past. (Unfortunately, he was not even allowed in the building for the Presidential campaign debates in his last run for President. There’s the racism!) Alan Keyes would never take our Country in the wrong direction as I believe President Obama is doing in many of his policies and actions.

  14. Colleen Says:

I am apalled at her comments regarding we tea party attendants being racist. I don’t care if President Obama is purple or polka dotted – it is his policies that worry me.
The many signs among the 3200 people in one of the Tulsa, OK
tea parties had very few references to Obama. They instead reflected our concern about the spending, the failure to honor the Constitution, the frightening slide toward socialism. Wake up Garafalo – you really don’t “get it”.

  16. Fred Says:

My wife of 43 years and I stood for 2 hours with placards that stated NO NEW TAXES; NO MORE BAILOUTS; BALANCED FEDERAL BUDGET; ELIMINATE ELECTORAL COLLEGE; IMPLEMENT TERM LIMITS; IMPLEMENT FAIR OR FLAT TAX. Those standing with us expressed similar ideas. NOT ONE PERSON expressed objection to having a black president. It is Ms. Garafolo who attempted introducing race – and in so doing demonstrated her own racism. EVERY PERSON expressed deep resentment and fear of the economic and social policies upon which our government has embarked. And, by the way, I expect that most of us know in precise detail what the original Tea Party was about. Ms. Garafolo personifies the term “effete snob.” If being “red neck” is the polar opposite of having Ms. Garafolo’s mind and heart set, we are happily red necks.

  17. W F Finman Says:

How dare a pimply faced diesel dyke Garafalo marginalize the Tea Party when she did not attend one. She was a guest on the biggest bed wetter liberal show, Obermann. Both hate America. Obermann’s viewers are closely connected as fans of the MR. Ed tv show. Obermann should stand in front of a mirror and repeat one hundred times……….”I am a Man” then promptly hang himself. He just might die thinking he was a man. As for Garafalo, I pray she gets eye cancer. This fly bunching scab does not believe in God anyway.

  18. gunny1950 Says:

Garofalo is proof that the ‘Wicked Witch” and one of the “flying monkeys”, from the Wizard of Oz, had a ‘love? child’.

I don’t care if the President is purple and from Uranus, RACE has nothing to do with it… If he’s wrong, he’s wrong, you dumbass!! Mr. Baur, PLEASE tell us you have a body bag with her name on it before this season is over!! I’ll be sure and Tivo that episode… The sooner the better!!

  22. Ginny Sunderland Says:

Ms. Garafalo is just a sad little skank who forgot to bathe for the last 20 years or so. And, she’s really, really, dumb. Yes, I do think she would be a great next wife for Drew Peterson, except he just got arrested. Perhaps she can join him in his jail cell for a conjugal visit.

  23. Howard Ino Says:

    RHM,

Why, sir do you get your news from an actress or comedian? Will you go to Garofalo for tax advise?

Turn off ABCNBCCBSFOXMSNBCCNBC and the other ministers of propaganda and turn on C-Span for unedited truth! Watch the real event, meeting or Congressional Hearing, not what some spit polished cutesy commentator passes as “news”

Sir, the owners of Big Media are sipping Louie XIII and laughing at the little fools that buy their propaganda…. It’s hilarious that you believe that BIG MEDIA really is in YOUR camp!

Sir, they join the same country clubs of Big Democrats and Big Republicans, Big Banks, Big Lawyers, Big Oil, Big Green, Big Tobacco, Big Media, Big Accounting, Big Insurance… et. al.

You sir are being duped, and the joke is on US!

    Open your eyes son… don’t kid yourself…

WHY DO THE BIGS donate so heavily to BOTH parties? How much influence do you think you REALLY have? Pull your last 1040 EZ and see how much you donated to your candidates! THEY DAMN WELL KNOW!

Sir, DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS BOTH SUPPORT Big Business… AND Big Government! Look at the policies that are designed to keep small business owners from competing against the BIGS:

    * Death tax (Big Biz NEVER pays death tax… Small farms and businesses are sold daily (TO BIGS) to pay the taxes upon the small business owner’s death!)

    * Heavy handed energy regulation (do you see many mom and pop service stations anymore?) Hmmmmmmmm….. WHY? Was that by chance???

    * Big Unions (ever see a small contracting company that is “organized”? Unions HELP Big Business and KEEP small companies out of the market! Don’t worry, you just pay for their excess wages in the products you buy!

    * Health Care deductions (ever notice that the laws are set up to make it easy for BIG Business to recruit the best employees with favorable medical packages that small business can not afford?).

    * Capital Gains Taxes (Major companies produce major necessities (products and services) in major volume. They just pass the taxes on… TO YOU! A landscaper can’t pass on excessive tax costs, as the homeowner will just do the work themselves once the cost becomes too high “price elasticity”… but if you want to eat, heat your home, buy gas… ya gotta pay the price!)

    * Tort Reform (Major companies have lawyers on retainer… a lawsuit may be an opportunity to crush a competitor… but for small business it may just be “close the door”!)

    * IRS (The Bigs have accountants on staff figuring out how to NOT pay high taxes (they will just pass the taxes on to you in the cost of goods anyway!), but small business often uses Turbo Tax. A $5,000.00 CPA bill could mean firing a good employee)

RHM… The Tea Parties were NOT inconsistent… BIG MEDIA CONVINCED YOU that we are!

    We are well educated.

We are not lawyers or politicians.

We do not make a living trying to make people laugh.

We do not make a living pretending to be someone else.

We produce 85% of America’s jobs, goods and services.

We want America back, where YOU and I have an opportunity to compete against the BIGS… BIG BUSINESS and BIG GOVERNMENT!

We are the small business owners and we are PISSED!

BTW, tell Ms. Garofalo that if she is against small business and in favor of THE BIGS… she can just go to hell!

  24. joe steele Says:

Garafalo, is a typical liberal who talks hate. Why cant people protest taxes without her dropping the race card? What a simple minded idiot!
    Period!

  25. Mike Says:

i just disagree with conservatism and this website. i also think there were some racists at the tea party events….not all, but some, as the signs they were holding suggested..

  26. G-MAN2584 Says:

She’s just another has-been trying be relevant by being controversial. Ms. Garofalo is totally irrelevant to those of us living in the real world. Her comments are not worthy of being dignified with a response.

Last night on Bill Maher she was spewing hatred again. To me, she is a total hypocrite. She’s using the term teabagger with such hatred, it is the same as calling someone the “N” word. She is labeling a group with negative name calling based on hatred.
