Obama’s Phony Budget Cuts In Perspective

When President Obama announced two weeks ago that he would challenge Cabinet officials to cut a total of $ 100 million from the Federal Budget, I said this:

Get back to me when you’re talking about real budget cuts, Mr. President.

  1. Come on Doug, you can’t demand budget cuts and then call them phony when they happen. There’s no doubt that the cuts are small, but it’s hypocritical to suggest that this isn’t progress. It’s $100M for heaven’s sakes! When put into perspective with our deficit it’s small, but it’s still a ton of money.

    First they haven’t happened yet.

    Second, they constitute less than 3 one-thousands of one percent of the total Federal Budget.

    As an opening move, it indicates to me that when it comes to budget cutting Obama is all sizzle and no steak
