Former CIA analyst Michael Scheurer was on Glenn Beck’s program yesterday and suggested that the best thing that could happen to America would be for al Qaeda to destroy an American city:
Of course, Beck, who’s built his Fox show entirely around paranoia, said nothing to challenge a comment that, if it came from a Democrat, would be getting 24-hour coverage on Fox News Channel this morning as example of treason.

I honestly don’t see how this constitutes as “neo-con craziness”. For starters, Beck is about as far from a neo-con as you can get, and Scheuer also rejects neo-conservatists. Further, I think it’s a perfectly valid analysis, although I don’t necessarily agree with it, that a terrorist attack, or a crisis of equal magnitude, would be required for the people to wake up and realize that their government is no longer acting in their constituents’ best interest. Clearly, the past few years of bubble economics, foreign meddling, socialist experiments, et cetera, have not been enough to tip the scale.
As a side note; where did you get the part about nukes and Cleveland?
Personally, I believe that while an attack on the US would likely have such an effect, I doubt that it’s the only path towards the goal of a healthy government. Hyperinflation, for instance, is another event that would probably have such an effect.

I am not sure why Beck would be expected to challenge his guest’s opinion. And much of what you call paranoia from Beck has actually come true. He didn’t believe Obama would not raise taxes on those making less than $250K, and he has. He didn’t believe Obama’s transparency promise and he is right. He said Obama is a socialist, and he is right. Seems his paranoia is only perceived as such by you Kool-Aid swillers that are still blinded by denial.
But you are correct in that if a Democrat, say Nancy Pelosi, ever said “People won’t wake up to what we are doing to them unless Al Qaeda leveled a city”, I agree that would get a lot of play on Fox. Sadly, it would never see the light of day on MSNBC or CNN or ABC, etc. and people like you will never know what is really happening. Kind of like now.

Well well, I don’t know if he would nuke or not, But he has definitely sent his army on foot to puke on one! Get ready to grumble!

Obama a socialist? Anyone using this term is suffering from acute paranoid delusion. What, a government should show no compassion, let the greedy become greedier, and ignore that fact that 2% owns 80% of the means of production – including Fox, which has become nothing more that a far-right propaganda tool?
Trying to equilibrate things for the 98% remaining of the American population who are suffering both economically and psychologically from this financial collapse is not socialism.
The American way is one thing – but an regime of economic quasi-slavery for more that 300 000 000 people is quite another. What Obama is looking at, which is after analysis but a very small, minor redistribution of wealth toward folks who work hard and get little in return, is not socialism.
Or would you rather dream that you can be anything you want while the wealthy few make sure you never se that dream come true – and then die like a dog because health care is unaffordable? Or live like a pauper because it take 50% of your income for coverage?
Please do not forget either that the Bush administration was in fact responsible for 9/11 by neglecting the information transmitted by Clinton’s in regard to terrorism until it was too late. So that the Neocon would try to plant the blame on the possibility of another attack is both callous, hypocrite – and scarily too real.
