Poll: Republicans More Trusted Than Democrats On Health Care, Other Issues

Well, this one is certainly a surprise:

For the first time in over two years of polling, voters trust Republicans slightly more than Democrats on the handling of the issue of health care. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that voters favor the GOP on the issue 44% to 41%.

Democrats held a four-point lead on the issue last month and a 10-point lead in June. For most of the past two years, more than 50% of voters said they trusted Democrats on health care. The latest results mark the lowest level of support measured for the party on the now-contentious issue.

Public support for the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats has fallen to a new low with just 42% of U.S. voters now in favor of it. That’s down five points from two weeks ago and down eight points from six weeks ago.

And it’s not just health care, voters are also saying they trust Republicans more than Democrats on a broad range of issues:

Trust

If this was August 2010, I would say that we’re looking at a possible GOP rout in the mid-term elections. Since we’re still 15 months away from that event, it’s unclear what this means in the long term or how long it might last.

The general rule, though, is to never underestimate the ability of Republicans to screw themselves.

That government ethics is a killer though. If they can’t improve that their chance could be tough.

These polls are obviously taken among mostly Republican areas. The Republicans have never done anything for the American people except get them into wars, and make themselves richer off the backs of the lower and middle class Americans. And then sorry to say, that is who votes them into office. Republicans feed off the self proclaimed macho, Americans, pump them up to fever pitches with lies, lies, and more lies, and they eat it up. How sad!
