A new Republican fundraising letter contains yet another lie about health care reform:
Raymond and Louise Denny of La Center were surprised last week to receive a mailing from Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee, entitled “2009 Future of American Health Survey.”
After reading it, their surprise turned to outrage.
They were especially irked by the following:
“It has been suggested that the government could use voter registration to determine a person’s political affiliation, prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health care rationing system. Does this possibility concern you?
As David Weigel points out, this has never been a part of anyone’s health care reform plan.
Why can’t they stop lying about this stuff ?

Ask Natan Scharansky about the medical care known dissidents received in the former USSR.

Your disparagement of such things evidences considerable faith in the good-faith of those in control.
How, pray tell, is that consistent with your alleged “libertarian” credentials?

Doug, I hate to be Chicken Little here, but when the federal government sets up the commission that rations our medical services, how can it be anything other than a political decision when EITHER party is in control?

James,
I don’t trust Democrats and more than I do Republicans, but there’s no evidence to support the fear mongering contained in that fundraising letter.
Which is why any political fundraising letter I receive ends up in the trash, unopened.

[...] It’s not lying… …it’s conjecture. [...]
