I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Bill Clinton says that the same “vast right-wing conspiracy” that went after him is now targeting Barack Obama:

WASHINGTON (AP) – Bill Clinton says a vast, right-wing conspiracy that once targeted him is now focusing on President Barack Obama.

The ex-president made the comment in a television interview when he was asked about one of the signature moments of the Monica Lewinsky affair over a decade ago. Back then, first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton used the term “vast, right-wing conspiracy” to describe how her husband’s political enemies were out to destroy his presidency.

Bill Clinton was asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” whether the conspiracy is still there. He replied: “You bet. Sure it is. It’s not as strong as it was because America has changed demographically. But it’s as virulent as it was.”

Clinton said that this time around, the focus is on Obama and “their agenda seems to be wanting him to fail.

No, Mr. President, its not that we want President Obama to fail, it’s that we believe that his policies would be deterimental to the interests of the country. He’s wrong on spending. He’s wrong on taxes. He’s wrong on health care.

And as for that debate you’re talking about, it’s fairly obvious what the terms of the debate are — abject surrender by the opposition. Those of us who’ve pointed out that it’s not the free market that has caused the health care crisis, and who’ve made suggestions for market-based solutions to that crisis don’t fit into that mold, so you just ignore us or just call us part of a conspiracy.

Anyway, here’s Slick Willie on Meet the Press:

Either Bill is paranoid or he’s too stupid to realize that it’s not a conspiracy when it’s out in the open.

Politics and the word vitriolic should be synonyms.
We can’t seem to stop hating the opposing party and ANYTHING
that they say or stand for or against.
What Bill did is unexcusable and what Bush W did is just as
unexcusable. The mess left behind by several President’s will now be laid at the feet of this one. And so it goes.
And we wonder why we get absolutely nothing done.
If American’s would stop bitching about the other guy, and start making all of them responsible to us (millions of us,
against a few of them) just think what a great day it would be! Keep wasting your time dredging up the past, while the future slips away folks. Do something constructive, like write, write some more to your congressmen and representatives. Insist on term limits, insist they take pay cuts when times are awful, insist that they lower their
retirement funds (they don’t pay Social Security nor receive it, however they get millions after retirement and so do their wives a plan voted in by them and never changed), speak up America – stop screaming at each other!
