Some Democrats could find themselves facing a challenge from the left:
Controversial liberal filmmaker Michael Moore on Tuesday issued a warning to Democrats who have been cool to President Barack Obama’s call for meaningful health care reform: Get on board or prepare to lose your seat.
“To the Democrats in Congress who don’t quite get it: I want to offer a personal pledge. I – and a lot of other people – have every intention of removing you from Congress in the next election if you stand in the way of health care legislation that the people want,” Moore told supporters of women’s groups and unions gathered at the headquarters of the government watchdog group Public Citizen. “That is not a hollow or idle threat. We will come to your district and we will work against you, first in the primary and, if we have to, in the general election.”
Democrats have started to take for granted the support of women, unions and low-income workers, according to Moore, who is promoting “Capitalism: A Love Story,” a documentary about the financial collapse due for wide release Friday.
“You think that we’re just going to go along with you because you’re Democrats? You should think again,” he told the Tuesday crowd in a speech that was carried to members of the media dialed into a conference call. “Because we’ll find Republicans who are smart enough to realize that the majority of Americans want universal healthcare. That’s right. That’s absolutely right. Don’t take this for granted.”
Moore himself is little more than a blowhard, but his comments are reflective of a lot of consternation that seems to be brewing among activists on the left who are coming to realize that Obama just might not deliver what they want when it comes to issues like health care reform, gay marriage, gays in the military, and the War in Afghanistan.
How disappointing for them.

Grandiose visions of self proclamation as savior to whatever, is distorting issue facts with lies, assumption and innuendo that further mislead citizens away from effective resolutions during a crucial time where clarity in the thought process and definitive action need be employed post haste.
Know this moron, with over population being the Worlds Greatest problem and sixty years of orchestrated legislation with the people educated with misinformation all coming together at this point in time when our Republic’s vast majority is nearing retirement and vulnerable to fear mongering, Genocide of the elderly, impaired, destitute and dependent is in perspective for world wide resolve. The only upside to your efforts is both you and the faction you support can only propagate and legislate. When it comes to producing any nourishment for humanity, you will all starve to death. Sorry, but that’s a fact, Jack.
It is a sad state of affairs when people of note espouse, with conviction and childish threats, resolve to issues of merit, without the capacity to see the negative affects they generate. Though important to view topics from many perspectives in order to formulate acceptable solutions, responsible individuals research all possible hypothetical reactions in the prospective resolve before implementing legislation that could result in devastating consequence. What if food lines become passé without food, Health Care lost due to inability to pay, rage and rampant violations to survive dictate containment necessity and in general the demise of the greatest Society ever on Earth.
You sir may be the all time greatest manifestation on the “Asshole of the World’s’” devaluation of Morales and Values in the name of self-indulgence over Societal harmony.
>if you stand in the way of health care legislation that the people want
Um, the polls show that the people don’t want it, Michael.
Poll after poll show the people are wary of government healthcare management, and outright fearful of runaway spending per se, much more so during a recession. Moreover, skeptics on both sides of the political spectrum are justifiably concerned with the overarching ‘progressive’ agenda of the left fringe, including: 1) The socialization of healthcare that covers illegals & promotes amnesty for aliens. 2) The attempt to engineer acceptable social standards and mores for the majority by mainstreaming alternative lifestyles for comparably tiny fringe groups through political initiatives, reform policy and an outright assault via all pop media. 3) The naive disposition the President and his administration display daily toward America’s enemies. This behavior tacitly ignores some of the world’s most dangerous actors as it weakens our nation and makes it a target for evil. Questionable quid-pro-quo arrangements with Russia regarding the recent withdrawal of consideration for a missile shield in Poland & Czechoslovakia in exchange for help with Iran which will NEVER come highlights this concern. Sucking up to the Chinese for bailing out the country in order to float a reckless stimulus package mortgaged our grandchildren’s future and set the stage for double digit inflation, act two of this debacle just visible over the horizon beneath another blinding floodlight of concern. Lighting the Empire State Building in its colors to commemorate the Communist Party — whose revolution resulted in more human rights abuses than can be counted — is not only inappropriate for the leader of the free world, but adds insult to injury to those who’ve dedicated and sacrificed their lives in the cause of freedom and democracy for the world’s oppressed. Ignoring Morgenthau to cozy up to Hugo Chavez in Caracas while the latter plots with Ghaddafi and A-jad to skirt international banking law will keep Tehran’s aims financed while removing the teeth from certain sanctions downstream. Apologizing to Zelaya, legitimizing the brothers Castro and pulling the rug out from under General McCrystal should likewise concern reasonable Americans who question the agenda of those attempting to influence the administration, as this reveals the President’s foreign policy naivete. The United States belongs to all of us, not just the radicalized political fringe. Believe it: Blowhards like Michael Moore blow harder and louder because they’re boomer-babies still whining about their rights 42 years removed from the Haight. Their romanticized notion of the world has caught up to them en masse as they face retirement and long-term care, the consequences of their choices now in sharp relief. Anyone who questions the myopic perspective of Moore and his ilk will be vilified and portrayed as turning their back on a generation’s vision of social justice, not as citizens concerned for America’s long term well-being. Failing to come to terms with these facts ignores wholesale realities of a dangerous world where bad boys with evil intentions are watching, and watching closely.
>if you stand in the way of health care legislation that the people want
I also want to know where he is getting his facts. I have also seen him say 2/3 of Americans want a POS system. The use of false facts isn’t going to help him influence my opinion.
