Joe Scarborough: Republicans Have Gone Off The Deep End

by @ 7:55 am on October 6, 2009.

From yesterday’s Morning Joe:

Joe Scarborough slammed Republicans for their gleeful reactions to President Obama’s failed attempt to help Chicago land the 2016 Olympics.

Scarborough first showed a clip of Rush Limbaugh merrily declaring that “the world has rejected Obama,” chanting “Barack Hussein Obama” and shimmying with delight.

In response, Scarborough asked, “I would like Rush Limbaugh to tell me…who’s he helping there other than Rush Limbaugh?” He went on: “Middle Americans that swing elections see that and think, ‘Oh my God, Republicans have gone off the deep end.’”

This echoed a piece Scarborough wrote for The Huffington Post last Friday, titled “Thank You, Mr. President,” in which he praises Obama for his trip to Copenhagen. Scarborough goes on to criticize both Republicans and Democrats for “narrow-minded partisanship,” but calls conservative reactions to Obama’s failed bid “just plain stupid.”

Point of information: Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer – his job is to be as outrageous as possible to keep up his ratings. He has not, to my knowledge, been elected to any office that would make him a spokesman for the Republican Party or any other group. Sometimes he makes a good point, but for the most part, he is not to be taken seriously – get a life, folks.
