Just think how much CO2 could be prevented if all of these foolish people would just hold their breath for about 10 minutes.....

I guess the other countries that eat their dogs are way ahead of us.

But to let you know, global warming/climate change is just a crock. Those of us who appreciate what our pets do for us wouldn't/couldn't even think of life without our furry friends. Most of them are lifesavers in one way or another. Just ask anyone who has a pet. Maybe we should start eating those who write books about eating fluffy first!!! That would start eliminating carbon footprints and wasteful use of paper.

Lame. Even back when we were all living like the Amish (and emitting very little non-renewable carbon), everyone had a dog.

Never mind the global warming aspect. Climate change is much more likely to be caused by solar variation. However, we may be able to mitigate the effects of the solar variations by adjusting our emissions here on earth, but that is still just a theory.

Pet ownership has been pushed heavily in America, to the point that even single adults believe that they have an obligation to keep a dog. It doesn't seem to register with these dopes that living in a tiny efficiency is not conducive to raising a pit bull.

Dog owners have a terrible environmental impact. Dogs dump about 88 MILLION tons of shit on our American landscape annually (based on US Pet Food Industry Association estimates). Forget the global warming aspect, 88 MILLION tons of untreated shit, going into our water supply, is a MAJOR health hazard.

One anecdote that appeared in a New York paper a few years ago: Soil had to be removed from Central Park because it had become so saturated with fecal coliform bacteria and dog worm larvae. The removed soil had to be treated as hazardous waste.

Where I live, adjacent to a golf course, dog owners who do not even live in the community bring their dogs here to shit; most do not clean-up after their four-legged shit dispensers.

Dogs are lovable and to many, are like a part of the family, but dogs who leave shit-piles all over the place are harming our water supply, and the turds are like bait for roaches, rats and other vermin.

Contrary to the TV stereotype, dog owners are not good citizens. Would anyone consider a neighbor who allowed their four year-old child to come over to your house and shit on your lawn every day, and whose kid shouted out of the window of their house at all hours of the night to be, good citizens? Of course not, yet some dog owners actually expect the rest of us to ignore their dog's piles of shit and the constant yalping of their ill-trained animals.

Our population has become concentrated in urban areas. The time has come for dog (and other pet) ownership to be discouraged with very large taxes and fees, as well as heavy fines for pet owners who do not clean up their dog's shit.
