Medicare’s Administrative Costs Higher Than Private Insurance

An interesting piece on last night’s 60 Minutes reporting that Medicare’s administrative costs total $ 60 billion per year, that’s more than what it costs to administer every private insurance plan in the country:

  1. The only surprise is that CBS News would air a piece that points that out. Pretty much any government program has higher overhead than a private sector counterpart, when you don’t have to worry about bottom lines that’s what happens.
