Gary Johnson Preparing For 2012 Run ?

by @ 7:35 am on October 28, 2009. Filed under 2012 Election, Elections, Political Parties, Politics, Republicans

Some possibly good news for liberty-minded Republicans:

Second only to Ron Paul, former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson is the most pro-liberty politician of any prominence. It looks like he might be considering a presidential run. Johnson seems like a dream come true (at least for a politician). For example, he supports the second amendment, marijuana legalization, and fought tax increases while governor. He also supported Ron Paul for president in the primaries.

I say, run Gary run.

    According to http://www.garyjohnson2012.com

He didn’t raise taxes as Governor once.
He vetoed over 1,000 spending items.
    He cut taxes 14 times.
In a state dominated 2 to 1 by Democrats he served two terms.
He competed in the Bataan Death March, a 25 mile desert run in combat boots wearing a 35-pound backpack.
He participated in Hawaii’s invitation-only Ironman Triathalon Championship, several times.
He climbed to the top of Mount Everest, despite a broken leg.

I had no idea the good man was still around and involved. He’s someone I could consider supporting – -for the rest of the Republico-Democrat field is part of the problem. So, yes, Run Gary Run – -but keep to liberty, and don’t go down the slimy slope of politics as usual.
