Some of them have died for their country:
I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

nor is he the only one to have fragged his comrades
God bless the heroes; the others can burn in hell.
November 6th, 2009 at 1:55 pm
That’s true and worth remembering. However this is also not the only jihad waged by US soldiers on US soldiers. A good rule of thumb might be that those who admire and publicly praise the suicide bombers should be looked at closely. Also, am I the only one who finds it even worse that this guy was a psychiatrist tasked with treating REAL and combat related psych problems? What was he doing in his practice? Can he have been anything but detrimental to his patients?

And so the whitewashing begins.
November 6th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
No whitewashing required.
My sympathy to those Muslims both in and out of uniform who would never consider committing such an act, because they know it would be wrong. They don’t deserve to be treated with suspicion because of what people like Hasan do.
And my sympathy to those who find themselves in the way of a crazed religious lunatic (whether Muslim, Christian, or whatever) who thinks that shooting or bombing innocent people is the right thing to do according to their religion.
But I have *no* sympathy for those whose religion tells them to murder innocent people. Nor will I.
November 6th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
What whitewashing ?
Hasan is a murderer who deserves everything that is coming to him.
There’s no evidence, however, that he’s representative of Muslim-Americans in general, or Muslim-Americans in the military in particular
November 6th, 2009 at 2:37 pm
You can not be a true mooooslim and an American in good standing at the same time. Impossible. Islam is the enemy. Has been for decades, little to do with GW Bush.
Is it wise to admit moooslims, who often have divided loyalties into our armed forces and our society as immigrants as well? Their first love is Islam.
How can we fight a war when we allow the enemy to immigrate here and even serve in our Army?
Every Mohammedan should be kicked out of our country, every one. Even the citizen Mohammedan ones. Strip them of citizenship, then kick them out.
Then again, look who the president is. A limp-wristed, 3rd world socialist/moooslim.

“There’s no evidence, however, that he’s representative of Muslim-Americans in general, or Muslim-Americans in the military in particular”
Having a few Muslim friends, I agree.
Having said that, I’d feel a whole lot better if more Muslims (including, unfortunately some of my friends) would more strongly condemn the ones like this.
I don’t want to hear any denunciations of this guy that has a “but . . .” in it.
November 6th, 2009 at 3:21 pm
[...] yes: some Muslims have died defending this country and defending Western liberalism. Under those circumstances, how much more [...]
November 6th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Thanks for this post. That is a beautiful picture that says so much.
SO many groups of people have bled for this country.
Muslims and Arabs in our military are the best damn folks. Almost all of them have considered who they are loyal to, and chose civilization, democracy, and America. they are putting their life on the line to show that their way of life can be compatible with the US’s values. Almost all Muslims in our military are true patriots.
This dude was a complete coward, a hateful bigot, and total exception to the rule.

November 6th, 2009 at 5:19 pm
There are Muslims and there are Muslims. Most don’t even know what is in the Koran or the Hadith – study is no encouraged. If they go to the mosque at all they rely on the imam to tell them what Islam is – and the Imam may decide they are not ‘ready’ to hear the full truth.
On the other hand, as has become clear, Nidal Hasan was a devout Muslim, a true Muslim. Islam, rightly understood, is a militant/political project of conquest with a veneer of religion.

“Some of them have died for their country”
Yes, and they’re infidels too.
November 6th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
One of the problems is that really-True-Believer Muslims think the Ummah (the worldwide group of those who worship Allah, no matter what country they may reside in) deserves their PRIMARY allegiance. Really-True-Believers also believe that “man-made” laws do not bind them; that they need recognize only Allah’s laws as revealed in the Quran and interpreted in the hadiths.
Although many in the liberal West want to believe Islam is a “Religion of Peace” (and many Muslims want to believe it, too), for every peaceful-and-tolerant statement in the Quran like “There is no compulsion in religion” or “If a man takes a life unjustly, it is as though he had killed all of humankind”, you will find several more proclaiming “Smite the Unbelievers wherever you find them, until Unbelief ends and all men submit to the rule of Allah”, and “If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him.”
A very good link, using the words of the Quran itself, is ProphetOfDoom.net; you can start here:
http://prophetofdoom.net/Prophet_of_Doom_Prologue.Islam
The short-short version is: not all Muslims are violent and eager to promote Islam by the sword. But the ones who DO, are considered by the Quran to be “good Muslims”. Those who would eschew violence are told “Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not.” Go ahead, read their book.

History has proved again and again that Islam is the enemy of the West. Unfortunately, our ancestors were not reality-challenged as we are today. Muslims have been consistently honest about their goals, and I personally have no reason to doubt them.

“Nidal Malik Hasan in Muslim clothes”
That does raise a question – are those “Muslim” clothes, or middle eastern clothes? Lots of faiths do the hat thing, but does the robe have anything to do with Islam? It’s one thing to be Muslim, another for an American to start mimicking the dress and behavior of another culture. The latter is not normal and should have been a major warning flag.

Man, I gotta tell you, I’ve never looked at white Christian males the same way since little Timmy McVeigh had he’s temper tantrum

“Bill Roper Says:
My sympathy to those Muslims both in and out of uniform who would never consider committing such an act, because they know it would be wrong. They don’t deserve to be treated with suspicion because of what people like Hasan do.”
The Koran tells them it is right.
“And my sympathy to those who find themselves in the way of a crazed religious lunatic (whether Muslim, Christian, or whatever) who thinks that shooting or bombing innocent people is the right thing to do according to their religion.”
Absurd moral equivalence here. The Bible enjoins no Christian to kill in the name of God. The Koran exhorts Muslims to kill those who do not believe, will not pay tax for their disbelief, and will not convert.
“But I have *no* sympathy for those whose religion tells them to murder innocent people. Nor will I.”
As far as the Koran and Islam is concerned, the only “innocent people” are Muslims. All else are guilty before allah and should be killed. Hasan was doing what the Koran said. He was being a good Muslim.
“Doug Mataconis Says:
There’s no evidence, however, that he’s representative of Muslim-Americans in general, or Muslim-Americans in the military in particular”
This is whitewashing nonsense. Inasmuch as they all believe in the same book and must commit violent jihad to gain paradise for themselves and their loved ones, he is representative. The difference is that the rest have yet to do it.
Some of the things you will hear from the Islamic community and other apologists:
1. This has nothing to do with Islam. False. Killing Christians, Jews, Hindus, atheists, etc. is what Muslims must do if these people will not convert to Islam. Hasan was proselytizing. I imagine that no one submitted to Islam; therefore, since he was not in a power position to levy a poll tax (jizya), he followed the next logical step: he slaughtered them.
2. Islam teaches that innocents should not be killed. True. However, what is unsaid is that, in Islam, only Muslims are regarded as innocent because they have submitted to allah. Therefore, the rest of the world is an open killing field for ANY Muslim.
3. He had a mental problem. False. Hasan’s problem is the Koran of Islam. He believed every word and practiced what he read.
4. Islam is a religion of peace. True. That peace applies only to other Muslims within a particular Islamic community. False. That peace does not apply to those who will not submit to Islam.
Something you will not hear:
1. We condemn Hasan’s murder of the American soldiers at Fort Hood. He was wrong to do it and the Islamic community rejects him.
Why will you not hear it?
Simple: For any imam or Muslim to make that statement is to sign his death warrant. That statement says that Mohammed, the Koran, and the Hadiths are all wrong, and that violent jihad is not the core principle of Islam.
If we cannot accept or admit these things to be so, then we are all apologists for Islam whose business is, like president Obama has said, to ensure that Islam is not ill-spoken of.

“JorgXMcKie Says:
Having a few Muslim friends, I agree.”
My dear, from your perspective you have Muslim friends; from theirs, you are not their friend. Islam teaches them not to have as friends people who are not Muslim. They will talk and smile with you; they will come to your house and participate in family events; then, one day, like that unfortunate Jewish Texan, they will kill you because you are not Muslim. You are not one of them.
Know what is in your midst.

Ohh, 3 whole muslim headstones. Compare that to two muslim fraggers (one became the beltway sniper)and now this guy.
We have a free society. We cannot tolerate these internal parasites, we will need to become a police state if we refuse to surgically remove the parasites.

Islam is a beautiful religion. Do you know what I find most beautiful about it? How they make the women wear those burkas over their bodies when they go outside!
Why, just read these timeless words of wisdom:
Qur’an (2:191-193) – “And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]…and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.”
Qur’an (47:4) – “So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners,”
I wonder how anyone could interpret these or any of the several hundreds of similar verses of the Qu’ran as encoraging violence? Personaly, I’m thinking about converting. Aren’t you?? I just can’t imagine a more useful system of belief for the 21st century!
Why do you feign respect for this religion? It’s horrible. What about the KKK? I just just love them, don’t you?
November 7th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
I don’t know anything about Cpl Khan’s religious beliefs but if the woman shown with his tombstone is related to him, he does not appear to come from a strongly Muslim group. Would you get a different gut reaction to the picture if the woman was only two eyes looking out of a black burka?

“Hasans problem was the Koran of Islam”
You watch too much Fox News and have read too many Robert Spencer books. Hate mongers who hated Jews back in the 1930’s made good excuses to kill them. People like this man sound like they want to reopen the gas chambers. How else are we going to deal with all these Muslims and their Korans. You jump to conclusions like a rat jumps to get some cheese. You hear a Muslim has killed people and bam!! Lets bash Islam. But when a non-Muslim murders 32 people in Virginia Tech; we dont talk about his religion. When a Vietnamese man murders 14 people in New York; we will ignore his religion. But someone who kills in the name of Allah means his whole religion is evil and everyone who follows that religion needs to be eliminated.
The point is, all people have the potential to murder and it doesn’t matter what their religion is.
November 8th, 2009 at 10:07 am
Hey folks! Do you love America? I do with my heart and soul.
But do you know the history? Every system which could not protect itself will die soon.
Why none of these muslim organizations or leaders condemn those attacks? Why your muslim coworkers keep silence about this cowardly killing?
The answer is simple. There are always exceptions and we should not forget this. But most of them want you to convert to islamic robots or be killed, they want to cover your women in rags and prohibit them from going to schools and take them into their harems. Please realize that.
The only alternative would be if some strong muslim leaders will call for peace…Would they?
November 10th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
u guys talk out of ur ass….there was nothing said when 31 are kiled at VA, everyday people kill by the dozens and nothing is made of it we forget a coupld days or weeks later…YES THIS IS WRONG what he did but to say that all muslims are like this is wrong…n to say islam is the enemy is messed up…b/c islam is not the enemy the enemy is the radical muslims…
November 11th, 2009 at 5:21 am
Moe Dog,
Does your defending Islam have to do with not wanting to be a racist? Isn’t Islam a set of beliefs which should be subject to scrutiny the same way any other set of beliefs are? Why are there no non-Muslim suicide bombers? By the way, what’s keeping you from converting to Islam?
November 11th, 2009 at 6:06 pm
Most American’s don’t know any Muslims. They are the “others”. When what we hear of Muslims comes from news reports of Al Qaeda, the Taliban, the president of Iran, Hamas, etc that is the way we view all Muslims. Until recently Muslims were kind of hidden in America. It will take years to change the negative views. People like Nidal Hasan don’t really help the cause. Remember Nazi Germany was populated by Christians.
November 13th, 2009 at 2:31 am
I am sicken by the fact that some of you people can call yourself a true American. You all are SICK TWISTED and MENTAL people. If you can sit there and link all muslims to a terrorist group you are sadly mistakn. All groups have both good and bad. We have christians and jews blowing shit up all the time but just because a muslim does it they get pentalized for it….WRONG. Sorry. They are people just like me and you and quite frankly some of them deserve to be here more than some of you idiots. I would love to see some of you burn in hell for the things you say but unfortunately I do not have that power so therefore I won’t.
Also FYI there have been thousand of muslims who have shed there blood for this country and deserve the utter most respect seeing as its Veterans time. Jeez people get a fucking life! And also my husband is a muslim and I am DAMN PROUD to be his wife…he’s served for our United States Army for 4 years, has been deployed and is serving in Korea at the moment and he deserves just as much as respect if not more for the things he does then some of the “americans” do.
So word to the wise on the stupid ass site, think before you speak out of your ass because you all sound like unintellgent redneck racist hillbillies….GET A LIFE, and hey there is this neat thing called Google, do a little research next time….you might be able to learn something about muslims before judging them!
