A great question asked by one Congressman during Saturday’s debate:
I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

I don’t know? Why do they have to force people to get car insurance? And, should we just allow those who don’t want it to skip it?
What happens in a car accident involving someone with no car insurance? I guess the rest of us take care of it?

Doug, didn’t you post something the other day about how the no existing condition part of the Health Care plan meant that it would be better for employers and employees to not have it and pay the penalty until they actually needed it? Wouldn’t provisions requiring people to have a plan stop that? I’m not saying it’s a good plan or that I agree with it, but it seems to me that a lot of the complaints against the plans are at cross purposes.

Obviously, Doug, you don’t understand the false consciousness of the proles, and the proper role of the vanguard of the proletariat.

Sus, health insurance and car insurance are two different things. You could kill or injure someone with a car or damage someone’s property with a car; however, you cannot kill or injure someone or damage their property by not having a medical insurance policy.

If you don’t want it, don’t get it. Refuse to pay the fines if caught. Do you really believe they have the resources to throw everyone in a cage who won’t willingly go along with this bill? They are a paper tiger and they only get away with what they do because people continue to fear them.
Stop voting, stop paying taxes, be a better neighbor and live like a free person. This is the way to liberty.

Penalties for not getting health insurance?
Talk about the government using fear!
