Don Surber tallies the polls:
Connecticut, Quinnipiac: Republican Rob Simmons 49, Democratic Sen. Christopher Dodd 38.
Delaware, Daily Kos: Republican Congressman Mike Castle 46, Democrat Beau Biden 45.
Illinois, Public Policy Poling: Republican Mark Kirk 53, Democratic Sen. Roland Burris 19. This is the latest poll and it is 7 months old.
Missouri, Rasmussen: Republican Roy Blunt 46, Democrat Robin Carnahan 46.
Nevada, Las Vegas Review-Journal: Republican Danny Tarkanian 49, Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid 38.
New York, Siena: Republican George Pataki 46, Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand 41.
Pennsylvania, Rasmussen: Republican Pat Toomy 45, Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter 40.
As Don notes, it’s early so it’s not clear that these polls mean anything.
Realistically, I think it’s unlikely that Republicans will pick up Illinois — about the only way that will happen is if Burris is, in fact, the nominee in 2010. Since that’s not likely to happen, that poll is probably meaningless.
I also think that the GOP faces an uphill battle in Connecticut and Delaware, two traditionally Democratic states. Although if any Republican can win Delaware, it’s Mike Castle.

Don’t forget that the right wing is treating to Hoffman many of the more moderate GOP candidates.

Looks to me like Connecticut already has a Republican Senator. Way to go Joe!
And we can’t count out Peter Schiff from Connecticut.
Also, us Las Vegans love us some Tarkanian. His dad was great at bringing our college basketball team great fame.
