I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Sarah, That’s Just Retarded

by @ 6:14 pm on February 2, 2010. Filed under Politicos & Pundits, Politics, Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin wants Rahm Emanuel to resign because he used the word “retarded”:

I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of that inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel, and not allow Rahm’s continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts. Yes, Rahm is known for his caustic, crude references about those with whom he disagrees, but his recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm’s recent sick and offensive tactic.

The Obama Administration’s Chief of Staff scolded participants, calling them, “F—ing retarded,” according to several participants, as reported in the Wall Street Journal.

Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the “N-word” or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking.

Oh dear lord.

Just shut up Sarah. It’s embarrassing.

Gotta agree with ya. There’s lots of reasons to get rid of Rahm. This isn’t one of them.

  2. Julie Anne Burton says:

I dislike Sarah Palin, but by god, she’s got a point. Calling someone “retarded” is just as bad as any racial or ethnic slur. At the very least, Emanuel needs to do some serious groveling.

  3. Paul Garber says:

Stop writing “N-word” when you mean to write, nigger, and stop the rest of political correctness worship in its tracks, along with the attempts to ban other words from our language.

If something is stupid, then describing it as retarded doesn’t mean that you think it is like a mentally retarded person, nor does banning the use of retarded alleviate any of the suffering by those who happen to be mentally retarded or have family members who are. Changing the “approved” word for retarded to mentally handicapped/challenged doesn’t change reality.

Don’t allow America to EVER become a place where words are banned. Welcome every idea into the real of public thought and allow thoughts and ideas stand on their own value to society.

  4. James Young says:

Of course, had Emmanuel or any other Liberal used the word “nigger,” they would be driven from public life.

After all, look what happened to Senator Robert KKK Byrd just a few years years ago….
