I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

One Reason The USA Is Better Than Canada – We Have Freedom Of Speech

by @ Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010. Filed under Freedom of Speech, Individual Liberty

I will start this post off by saying that I am most emphatically NOT an Ann Coulter fan. I find her speech bombastic, stupid, often needlessly insulting, and mostly pointless.
Nonetheless, I think this is just wrong:
OTTAWA — Even before she opened her mouth for the first of three speeches this week on Canadian soil, American [...]

Joe Biden Goes 2-For-2 On The Gaffe Meter

by @ Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010. Filed under Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Politicos & Pundits, Politics

First, our esteemed Vice President dropped the F-Bomb in the East Room.
Then, mere hours later, there was this:
Biden is fond of quoting poets in public, usually Irish ones and often in the Mideast for some reason. But today the man who was a senator while Obama was in the sixth grade chose another nationality.
Here’s what [...]

No Mr. President Your Health Care Plan Won’t Reduce The Deficit

by @ Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010. Filed under Barack Obama, Health Care Reform, Politicos & Pundits, Politics

Reason’s Nick Gillespie explains why:

1. Legislative Trickery. Congressional Democrats have pledged support for “the doc fix,” a permanent upward adjustment to the rates at which Medicare providers are reimbursed. As Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said, “We have made a commitment to do this. This is very important.” The cost of the “doc fix”? Some [...]

Do you even know what the 17th Amendment is ? Probably not.
Well, here’s what it says:
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall [...]

Sarah Palin Endorses Creation Of A Third Party

Interesting:

HANNITY: If it’s a strong conservative that gets the Republican nomination and then a tea party member runs as a third party candidate, do you have any worry about that?
PALIN: I do have a little bit of worry about that but at the same time that can be part of a healthy process, though. A [...]

Just Saying “Repeal It” Isn’t Good Enough

There seems to be a debate of sorts going on among Republicans and conservatives over the best way to respond to the passage of the health care reform bill.
On one side are those like Erick Erickson who argue for repeal:
Already we have a few Republicans positioning themselves in grand theatrics to call for full repeal [...]

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli Files Lawsuit Over Health Care Reform Bill

And then there were fourteen:
RICHMOND – The Virginia Attorney General’s office has officially field a lawsuit challenging the federal government’s overhaul of the health care system.
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s office delivered the suit this afternoon to the U.S. District Court in Richmond, a few minutes after the president signed the controversial health care bill into [...]

Thirteen States File Suit Against ObamaCare

Well, that didn’t take long:
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Attorneys general from 13 states sued the federal government Tuesday, claiming the landmark health care overhaul bill is unconstitutional just seven minutes after President Barack Obama signed it into law.
The lawsuit was filed in Pensacola after the Democratic president signed the bill the House passed Sunday night.
