I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Ron Paul On Firing Line, 1988

A trip down memory lane, and proof that at least one politician in Washington is as intellectually consistent today as they were 22 years ago (in four parts, so advance to the next video when the each one ends):

I remember watching this show back in 1988. It was one of the reasons I decided to cast my first vote in a Presidential election for Ron Paul.

LOL at van der Haag trying to convince RON PAUL that it might be in the US interest to put in dictators…!

  2. Next to (the late) William F. Buckley, Dr. Paul’s personality appears positively effervescent.

What I never hear from Dr. Paul or anyone on the Libertarian side is how, if the income tax is eliminated, will you entice, cajole, bribe, or otherwise lure the rich into parting with their money so that new enterprises are started here in America?

Already, some of the so-called refinements of our tax code and trade policies have provided the rich with ways to invest more easily off shore, instead of building domestic manufacturing.

With a flat tax or a VAT, or some other form of tax, how do you provide strong incentives for the re-establishment of our strategic manufacturing base?
