Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Ron Paul On Firing Line, 1988

by @ Sunday, August 15th, 2010. Filed under Politicos & Pundits, Politics, Ron Paul

A trip down memory lane, and proof that at least one politician in Washington is as intellectually consistent today as they were 22 years ago (in four parts, so advance to the next video when the each one ends):

I remember watching this show back in 1988. It was one of the reasons I decided to [...]

Best Criminal Defense Ever

by @ Thursday, August 12th, 2010. Filed under In The News, Legal

A TOPLESS sunbather is being investigated by police after being accused of sensuously rubbing sun cream on herself on a public beach.
Police were called to a beach at Anzio south of Rome by a furious mother who [...]

Eric Cantor Joins The Anti-Mosque Hysteria

I haven’t been a fan of Eric Cantor since he joined John Boehner in pushing through the “crap sandwich” known as TARP, so this just confirms my opinion of him:

Everybody knows America’s built on the rights of free expression, the rights to practice your faith, but come on.
Yea, come on. After all, it’s just a [...]

The Post Where I Actually Agree With Mike Huckabee

by @ Thursday, August 12th, 2010. Filed under Immigration, Mike Huckabee, Politicos & Pundits, Politics

It was bound to happen at some point, but I agree completely with Mike Huckabee’s take on the “birthright citizenship” debate:
(CNN) – Mike Huckabee says he’s against changing portions of the Constitution that automatically grant citizenship to children of immigrants born in the United States – a position that puts the potential 2012 Republican presidential [...]

Judge Napolitano: Birthright Citizenship Debate Is Meaningless Political Talk

by @ Thursday, August 12th, 2010. Filed under Immigration, Individual Liberty, Politics

Once again, Judge Napolitano tells it like it is:

I reached much the same conclusion in a post last week at Outside The Beltway.

You Are Now Entering A Shcool Zone

by @ Thursday, August 12th, 2010. Filed under Dumbasses

This really happened:
Traffic Markings, a company hired to paint lines and words on roadways, put the “COOL” back in “SCHOOL” last week.
The company transposed the letters H and C in enormous white letters, leaving the “SHCOOL” marking on the road for several days.
The company has since fixed the error. A spokesperson for Traffic Markings said [...]
